Old Homes

These two photos are of the house where I grew up in Granger, Utah. It was a fun old house, with a huge yard, garden, barn-yard and a deep narrow field which we called the "pasture" - even though the grass was too crummy to really qualify for the term. Still, we used to turn the cow loose in the pasture each day in the summer, and she never starved. We also hunted birds, caught carp in the drain ditch, and picked asparagus along the ditch banks. We had lots of adventures here. For example, the field would usually catch fire at least once each summer. I wonder how that happened? So many vivid memories! The house is gone - replaced with a freeway interchange (3500 South and I-215). Progress. (Top: view of front. Bottom; view of back and garden, taken from the barn-yard gate.) This is the house where my family lived when I was born. It is still there, on the corner of 1300 East and Browning Avenue ("Steep Browning") in Salt Lake City. We moved to Granger when I was 3 years old, so I have almost no memories of this home - just the photo of me crying because Mom tied me to the garage door to keep me out of the street. (See Oct. 8, 2008 post of 8:19 p.m.)

I wonder if that would still work...tying you to the garage to keep you out of trouble. Maybe you could use your blue tool box to help you get loose!
